Position Summary 

The Marketing Director is the key leader responsible for the strategic planning and execution of marketing, PR, brand management and communications for No Barriers. The primary goal is the increased engagement in No Barriers mission; building brand awareness and driving revenue.  This includes measuring the return on investment for various programs, campaigns and marketing strategies.  The Marketing Director will create and maintain a successful brand and image that attracts new donors to fulfill our mission.  


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Strategic Planning: Measure and analyze current marketing and sales approaches, bring new and creative ideas to the table, research competitors, and ultimately develop and execute a comprehensive marketing, PR, sales and recruitment plan, both short and long range, with shared responsibility for enrollment and revenue objectives of the organization

  • Execution, Tracking and Analysis: Plan and oversee all marketing, sales, advertising and promotion activities including digital and traditional marketing. Measure and analyze all results and adjust strategies as needed for increased success. 

  • Marketing:  Manage brand activity, awareness, growth and ensure position goals are reached.  Build awareness across segmented audiences.  Marketing plan and scope of work to include production and delivery, value propositions, testimonials, direct mail, email, collateral, social media, proposal and a digital strategy.  Ensure integrity of brand. 

  • Website:  Oversee the design, content and maintenance of the website to promote engagement and donor action.  

  • Events:  Plan and oversee marketing, event production and recruitment for No Barriers annual events including the Summit, What’s Your Everest and newly developed events.  

  • Partnership Building: Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers, marketing agencies, key community and strategic partners to help achieve organizational objectives.

  • Vendor Relations:  Effectively partner and collaborate with marketing vendors and contractors to achieve the organization's strategic plan

  • Storytelling and Content Strategy: Plan and execute on organizational storytelling strategy, including forging key strategic partnerships with content and distribution partners.

  • Team Management: Work across the organization with both internal and external partners and lead the team to develop and execute strategies that support programming and development efforts 

  • Fundraising: Assist with fundraising strategy and execution in partnership with the Development Director, the Executive Director and the Board of Directors

  • Financial Management:  Forecast, manage and execute marketing budget to maximize ROI, reduce expenses and yield growth in reach, awareness and donors

  • Analytics:  Design and create baseline metrics; implement and track metrics relevant for understanding impact of marketing efforts and fulfillment of the mission; evaluate messaging outcomes/impacts 

  • Industry:  Develop and maintain knowledge of industry best practices, similar providers and effective strategies 

  • People Management | Supervisory Duties:  Supervise all Marketing interns, volunteers or fellows and build a team that engages across the organization.

  • Budget Management: Builds and manages departmental budget in partnership with the CFO

  • Strategic Thinking: Develops strategies to achieve organizational goals; understands organization's strengths & weaknesses; analyzes market and competition; identifies external threats and opportunities

  • Mission Alignment: Strong desire to positively impact the lives of those served by No Barriers; live the No Barriers Life in his/her past and present work, exhibiting a combination of vision, innovation, teamwork, grit and resilience


Other Responsibilities

  • Work effectively across all departments to ensure knowledge and alignment of marketing needs and opportunities

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director on the cultivation of Board and Ambassadors creating opportunities for engagement


Education and Formal Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to communications, marketing, business 

  • 5+ years experience proven success in digital and traditional marketing, sales, outreach/recruitment; experience in selling large-scale programs/events is ideal

  • Managerial experience - either direct or as an influencer

  • Experience driving marketing and recruitment efforts resulting in successful attendance at large community and organizational events is a plus.

  • Familiarity with at least one of the populations served by No Barriers 

  • Expertise with non-profit operations and best practices is preferred

  • Expertise with common CRMs such as SalesForce and knowledge of how to align strategy that maximizes the use of these tools 


Working Environment

  • This is an office job generally requiring computer work ~8 hours/day

  • Occasional field work to support No Barriers programs; limited travel

  • Flexible remote work environment with a one day per week in the Fort Collins office (headquarters) preferred but not required
